What is the first event of the Sprint?

The first event of the Sprint is Sprint Planning. This event sets the stage for the entire Sprint by allowing the Scrum Team to come together and define what is to be delivered in the upcoming Sprint and how that work will be achieved. During Sprint Planning, the Product Owner presents the highest priority items from the Product Backlog, and the Scrum Team collaboratively determines which of those items they can commit to delivering within the Sprint.

The outcome of Sprint Planning is the Sprint Goal, which provides a shared understanding of what the team aims to achieve, and a plan for how they will accomplish that work.
